Job Description The Goddard School located in Arvada, CO (Ward
Road) is a brand new school that is seeking fun, energetic
individuals who are qualified as an Early Childhood Teacher (ECT)
and looking to grow in their teaching career. Our goal is to help
children develop a lifelong love of learning. Our teachers work in
a student-centered, nurturing environment with the support and

learners. Our goal is to provide students with the tools and skills
they need to both succeed in the classroom and as they explore real
life experiences. Students are provided the opportunity to access
their own learning in an age-appropriate setting, with the support
of a caring teacher, in an environment in which they feel safe. We
empower our students by encouraging them to expand their knowledge
by exploring more opportunities through our fun enrichment programs
as well. No matter what level your child is working at, we hope to
provide a curriculum that promotes creativity, independence,
critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and analytical
skills; skills they will carry with them throughout their future
academic success. In the everyday interactions, we encourage
students to make meaningful connections with peers, gain
self-confidence and self-esteem, and explore interests,
experiences, & activities that the students enjoy. Our staff will
work to provide nurturing leadership and support, which will
facilitate an environment that encourages inclusion and
differentiated instruction to meet the individual needs of each
student. We will accomplish this by working collaboratively with
one another, parents, and administration to provide each student

successful life-long learners. Summary of Responsibilities: Works
collaboratively with supervisors, colleagues, students, and
parents/guardians Develop, write and implement effective lesson
plans Maintain a portfolio for each child Prepare a Daily Activity
Report for each child Prepare, adapt, arrange, and maintain
preschool materials Meet the individual needs of the children in
your care Ensure safety of children by providing sufficient and
appropriate supervision and guidance of children at all times
Interact with the children to support the development of life
skills through play, exploration, learning, self-esteem, and social
skills Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities
to engage children in learning Promote positive behavior and
healthy peer relationships through social emotional development
Communicate appropriately and professionally with parents and
colleagues Participate in staff meetings and training Design an
appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental
level of the children in the classroom Comply with Goddard's
Quality Assurance standards Comply with Colorado Department of
Early Childhood Licensing Rules/Regulations Ensure that children
are always within state ratio requirements Continue your own
education/professional development Requirements Experience: At
least one year of classroom experience is required for a lead
teacher. Education: For a lead teacher, a Bachelors degree,
Associates degree, or CDA with emphasis on Early Childhood
Education or related field is required. For a lead teacher, the
candidate must be Early Childhood Teacher qualified under the
Colorado state regulations, including passing all required
background checks. Must be CPR/First Aid Certified or complete
within 30 days of employment Ability to handle crisis situations,
especially where children are involved Ability to evacuate and
respond immediately to emergency situations ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS: --- Occasional lifting, five (5) to fifty (50) pounds
--- Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling,
crawling, squatting, reaching, and sitting
