Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic JOB SUMMARY Under general supervision of the Operations manager, a variety of skilled work in the repair and maintenance of diesel engines (excavators, dozers, loaders, skids), as well as general repairs of pumps and motors, and any other associated heavy civil construction equipment. PRINCIPAL, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Diesel Mechanic Requirements: --- Capability to perform diagnosis, maintenance and repair of diesel engines --- Provide quality and cost effective maintenance of company equipment --- Ability to complete all necessary parts ordering --- Oil, lube, and filter inventory and ordering. --- Safely move trucks/equipment to/from shop and yard area --- Maintain safe and clean work area --- Computer experience --- CDL A license and/or the ability to obtain one Skill in: Diesel mechanics and computer diagnostics Ability to: Effectively manage the repair and maintenance of associated heavy civil construction equipment. Work extended hours out doors in a variety of weather conditions. Prepare and maintain records and reports. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public. Follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturers' service specifications. Ability to perform physical work including climbing, lifting, twisting, bending, pushing, reaching, reaching above head, grasping, stooping, carrying up to 50 lbs. WORKING CONDITION: Work in outdoor environment in a variety of weather conditions. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards if proper safety procedures are not followed. All offers of employment will be contingent on passing a mandatory background check and pre-employment drug screen.
