Description A great opportunity to join our Respiratory Therapy New
Graduate Residency Program at University of CO Hospital with
UCHealth! This program is a two year program that includes monthly
didactic lectures, hands-on workshops and bedside training.
Eligible applicants are new grads with no previous respiratory
therapy experience. 72 hours/pay period, rotating shifts. Details
regarding the new grad RT program:Eligible participants will go
through a comprehensive interview and screening process.New Hires
must receive their RRT certification and BLS and ACLS
certifications prior to the cohort start date of July 11, 2022.
Selected candidates will sign a 2-year contract with UCHealth.Each
program participant will be required to actively participate in a
hospital or department committee.Preceptors, mentors and STAR
council members will assist in the development of a STAR portfolio
for Level II status.At the completion of the program, residents
will present an evidence-based presentation to the program Advisory
Board Committee and Respiratory Care Leadership Team The first 12
months will include a consistent and content rich series of
lectures and workshops. Responsibilities of Respiratory Therapist
position:Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan
of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as
appropriate. Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures
based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses
patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment utilizing
appropriate protocols. Educates the patient and family about the
patient's illness and provides information about community
resources.Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills,
decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal
supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and
take appropriate action.Requirements:Minimum Required Education:
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Required
Licensure/Certification: Registered as a Respiratory Therapist
(RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). State
licensure if required by law. No previous RT work experience.BLS
and ACLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red
Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before
start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of
hire. The pay rate for this position is: $29.54 / hour. An annual
bonus may be paid to eligible employees based upon organizational
