As a Level I Trauma Center, University of Colorado Hospital takes
extraordinary pride in the care we provide to our trauma patients
in and around the Denver metro area. Between the skilled emergency
staff, the pristine Trauma operating rooms, our renowned surgeons,
and a dedicated intensive care unit (ICU), there is no doubt our
team at UCHealth is prepared to absorb any unexpected trauma
situation arriving through our doors. The Acute Care nursing team
is no exception when it comes to providing efficient care! These
high acuity patients typically arrive post-operatively from the
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) or from the ICU as patients
continue to improve and heal. The Trauma program here at UCH
incorporates a multidisciplinary team whose primary focus is to
help patients and their family members recover from their traumatic
event, both physically and emotionally, through outreach programs
and continued support for at risk populations. This unit is seeking
engaged healthcare workers who can perform in a fast-paced
environment while providing patient-centered care to these
multifaceted patient situations. Surgical Trauma is a sub-group of
the Surgical Specialties unit, where these patients will be cared
for after the completion of Tower 3 in August of 2023
