Provides nursing leadership for a specific shift and unit/area.
We are offering a night incentive to Full time RN's of $1,600 for every 13 consecutive weeks of full time commitment. You must work a minimum of 3 full time night shifts every week.
Work Schedule: Full Time Nights
Unit: Medicine Health Services (MHSU)
Populations Typically Served: Diverse patient population with typical admissions from the Emergency Department or patient progression from Progressive or Medical Intensive Care Units.
Acuity Level: Medical Acute Care
Number of Beds: 36
Types of Procedures or Diagnosis Typically Seen: Our unit manages variant compounded diagnoses including multiple organ system failures, sepsis, altered mental status, GI bleed, substance use, heart failure with telemetry monitoring need and COPD exacerbations.
Supervises and mentors staff during assigned shift. Determines staffing level and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, and patient acuity.
Provides direct patient care as needed. Floats between staff to assist with problem-solving. May take patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care, including formal evaluation, and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes. Responds to complaints about patient care and related services, and manages through established channels.
Performs role-specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers. Ensures staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
The pay range for this position is: $36.47 - $56.52 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
