Physical Therapist Assistant Position: The Licensed Physical
Therapist Assistant (PTA) delivers direct rehabilitation services
to patients under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist.
This role ensures compliance with established protocols and
regulations. Candidates should be graduates of an accredited
program, possess an active license, hold CPR certification, and
demonstrate proficiency in documentation and therapy software,
along with strong interpersonal skills for effective patient care
coordination. Position Summary The Physical Therapist Assistant is
responsible for providing direct rehabilitation services in
physical therapy to patients referred by physicians, working under
the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) while
adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational
standards. Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
Completion of an accredited physical therapy program (ASPT).
Current registration or licensure in the relevant state, with an
obligation to maintain an active license in good standing
throughout employment. Preferred one (1) year of experience in a
post-acute care or similar environment. CPR certification required
upon hiring or to be obtained during orientation, with the
necessity to keep it current throughout employment. Specific Job
Requirements Engage in community health initiatives and projects as
appropriate. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
communication is essential. Collaborate with patients, families,
and support departments to effectively address patient needs.
Consistently demonstrate proper body mechanics. Make independent
decisions when necessary. Possess knowledge of relevant practices,
procedures, and regulations governing operations in a post-acute
care facility. Implement and interpret departmental programs,
goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Exhibit proficiency in
all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and
sanitation. Maintain professional relationships with colleagues,
vendors, and others. Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and
sensitive information. Adhere to organizational policies, including
those related to harassment and compliance. Demonstrate integrity
and professionalism by following the organization’s Code of Conduct
and completing required compliance training. Essential Functions
Implement physical therapy treatment plans for patients as directed
by the supervising PT. Document patient progress accurately and in
a timely manner. Utilize therapy software effectively and
accurately. Provide excellent customer service and maintain a
positive attitude towards patients. Assist in the safe evacuation
of patients when necessary. Exhibit reliable and regular
attendance. Apply reasoning skills and sound judgment in various
situations. Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within
an interdisciplinary team. Engage in physical activities such as
sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping,
walking, reaching, and moving intermittently throughout the
workday. Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language
