to find a qualified Oncology RN in Aurora, Colorado, 80045! Job
Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Bone Marrow
Transplant (BMT) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift:
12 Experience: 2 years of acute care BMT or hematology/oncology
experience required License: Current RN License (CO or Compact)
Certifications: AHA BLS, ONC certification required Must-Have:
First-timers accepted as long as they have required experience
Weekend coverage required based on unit needs Description: The
position involves caring for patients with blood cancers. Patients
receive chemotherapy, biotherapies, and cellular therapies,
including stem cell transplants and CAR-T therapy. The unit
currently consists of 36 beds, with plans to expand to 51 beds.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are 3-4:1. Additional responsibilities
include the administration of chemotherapy and monitoring for
potential complications. Candidates must be proficient in
recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values. Experience with
central lines, implanted lines, and care of ports is necessary.
Nurses will manage acute conditions such as tumor lysis syndrome,
anaphylaxis, and sepsis. Neutropenic precautions and monitoring for
altered mental status will be required. The position necessitates
knowledge in managing chemotherapy-related side effects such as
nausea and vomiting, as well as constipation and diarrhea.
Candidates must be adept in various patient care skills related to
bone marrow transplant and inpatient oncology. This position
requires a commitment to teamwork and interdisciplinary
