Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a
qualified Oncology RN in Aurora, Colorado, 80045! Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical

hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
License: Must have a valid RN license Certifications: BLS required
Must-Have: Teaching hospital experience required Description:
Oncology skills checklist required. Ten days of time off maximum
approved. Time off is not allowed during specific time periods. The
position requires rotating shifts during various days of the week.
Candidates must have experience floating as required to meet
facility needs. The unit primarily cares for patients with a known
cancer diagnosis needing surgical interventions. Nursing staff
provides care to help patients achieve specific post-operative
milestones for discharge. No chemotherapy or biotherapy is
administered on this unit. Staff does not need to be chemotherapy
certified to apply. Patients typically have oncology diagnoses
related to the abdomen or pelvic area. This includes gynecologic
oncology, colorectal, pancreatic, liver, and stomach cancers. The
ratio of nurses to patients may flex based on staffing and unit
needs. While additional support is provided, candidates must be
comfortable in flexible staffing environments. Standard medical
equipment is used on the unit, and innovative technology is
incorporated into workflows. Nurses will be given educational
resources to support any knowledge gaps. Weekend shifts are
required based on unit needs. Nursing care includes post-surgical
management, wound care, and patient/family education. Candidates
should be knowledgeable in various oncology-related skills and
procedures. This includes managing ports, central lines, and
telemetry monitoring. Experience in providing care coordination and
