Job Description:
Duties--- Administers and maintains Headquarters Air Reserve
Personnel Center information systems hardware.--- Recommends
selection of, installs, upgrades, and maintains software.--- Serves
as the Headquarters Air Reserve Personnel Center network security
officer.--- Provides guidance, assistance, and training to
customersRequirements Conditions of Employment--- U.SCitizenship
Required--- Males must be registered for Selective Service, see
www.sss.gov--- PCS is not authorized.--- This position is subject
to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program--- Disclosure
of Political Appointments--- This position may be required to work
other than normal duty hours.--- The incumbent is required to
obtain and maintain a "SECRET" security clearance.--- Work may
occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station.---
The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial
aircraft.--- Overtime may be requiredQualifications In order to
qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements
described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification
Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and
Administrative Support PositionsSPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants
must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the
next lower grade GS-08, or equivalent in other pay systemsExamples
of specialized experience includes experience in manpower related
systems, operational policy, and procedures; experience working
with computer equipment, internal computer processes, application
and utility programs, and magnetic media; experience in computer
techniques, requirements, sources, and procedures; experience in a
wide range of analytical and diagnostic methods, procedures, and
principles to identify system failures, take corrective actions to
resume normal operations, and implement procedures to allow for
partial use until problems are resolvedFEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG)
REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion
applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be
considered eligibleOne year at the GS-08 level is required to meet
the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 levelTIG applies if
you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the
previous 52 weeksNOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who

service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet
time-in-grade requirements .KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of
knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following
areas:--- Knowledge of ARPC, AFRC, Air Force and DoD automated data
processing and networking standards, policies, and techniques.---
Knowledge of computer hardware and software systems and their
interfaces; and higher level programming languages comparable to
COBOL and FORTRAN and other job control languages.--- Knowledge of
information processing sequences, controls, and procedures.---
Knowledge of facility environment and infrastructure to support
computer systems, and to provide user support.--- Ability to use
and maintain a computer system, equipment, and software; analyze
computer network, software, and hardware problems and develop
effective and economical solutions; and train users on new computer
systems.--- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in
writingPART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for
appropriate unpaid and or part-time workYou must clearly identify
