UCHealth SPD Academy
The SPD Academy is designed for entry level persons interested in
developing themselves personally and professionally. SPD Academy
combines the book knowledge with real life experience. Students
will be oriented to the UCHealth system while simultaneously
receiving classroom education and valuable on-the-job trainings.
ALL while getting paid!
This program will provide students with the 400 clinical hrs.
required for a "Certified Registered Central Service Technician
(CRCST)," and the cost of the exam is covered by UCHealth! From
here the career options are endless! There are a total of 5
certifications specifically tailored to the functions within the
Sterile Processing department.
During the 15-week program, students will work with knowledgeable
instructors to learn the ins and outs of an SPD departments. Time
will be split between the classroom, where students will have the
opportunity to learn and understand the importance of SPD; and real
life hands- on experience, in a fully operational Sterile

- Required Licensure/Certification: Certified as a CSPDT
(Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) or CRCST
(Certified Registered Central Service Technician) within 1 year of

The pay range for this position is: $16.07 - $24.1 / hour.
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
An annual bonus may be paid to eligible employees based upon
organizational and individual performance.
