Description Summary:Performs limited diagnostic medical
radiographic procedures.Work Schedule: PRN
FlexResponsibilities:Under the supervision of a radiologist,
performs diagnostic medical radiographic procedures limited to
x-ray examinations of the skull, chest, hip/pelvis, spine/sacrum,
upper extremities, and lower extremities. Follows exam protocols on
neonatal (excluding NICU patients), pediatric, adult and geriatric
patients.Maintains department facilities; checks equipment and
supplies on a daily basis. Communicates effectively with
radiologist and other physicians when given direction.Processes
images, evaluates images for technical quality and accurate patient
identification. Places appropriate markers on all images. Checks
quality of images and sends images or exam to proper PACS viewing
station.Verifies patient identification and physician orders.
Documents clinical history prior to examination. Transports
patients and informs nursing units of patient's departure and
arrival.Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills,
decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal
supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and
take appropriate action.Requirements:
- Credentials:Essential:* Basic Life Support* Registered
Radiologic Technologist* ARRT Limited Scope
- Other information: Minimum Required Education: High School
diploma or GED. Must be a second year student in the Memorial
Hospital School of Radiologic Technology. Required
Licensure/Certification: State of Colorado Certificate as a Limited
Scope X-Ray Operator. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
ARRT 6 months after graduationMinimum Experience: Completion of
first year in the Memorial Hospital School of Radiologic
Technology.
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red
Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before
start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of
hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either
the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for
the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional
Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be
through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)The pay
range for this position is: $18.54 - $24.10 / hour. Pay is
dependent on applicant's relevant experience.UCHealth offers a Five
